This sweet dog showed up at my house about 4 weeks ago. I’ve named him Dusty, I’m guessing he’s a chocolate lab/pit bull mix. He showed up beat up obviously hit by a car. And before that tied up his whole life. His collar mark is all calloused and he’s still so young. I got him to Walhalla vet as soon as I could to get him some vaccines, blood work and some meds. Blood work was good. His tail didn’t work but is starting to come back. Nothing was broken just a bruised pelvis. It hurt for him to poop at first but he’s all healed up now. His scabs are all gone, hair is almost all the way back. Vet said he’s about 8 months to 1 year old. Probably about 40 – 50 lbs and still growing into his ears and feet. He’s very sweet. Gets along great with my dogs. He grumbled at a couple male dogs at the dog park for just a second, but after that straight to playing and running. He lets me know during the day when he needs to go out to potty. He wants nothing but snuggles and love. He’s not food aggressive at all – he shares bones with my dogs and eats right next to them and doesn’t try to steal their food. Plays tug of war great with them. I haven’t seen him around children but I’d imagine he would be great with them. I haven’t seen him around cats, but he has a good heart, so I believe he could get used to one quick. He’s a quiet dog, never barks unless it’s play time. And he’s great in the kennel, actually enjoys it goes right in there and just goes to sleep if you shut the door. Or if he feels like sleeping he likes sleeping in there. Unless he’s sleeping on one of my other dogs. That was a lot to read but I’ve grown attached and want him in a great home. I just only have two arms, and already have 2 dogs.
